MAPLEWOOD (WATERVLIET) NY

Archbishop Michael visited Saint Basil Orthodox Church in Maplewood NY for evening Vespers on Saturday, 31 December 2016, and for a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on the following Sunday (New Year’s Day). The parish Feast-Day celebration of Saint Basil included the blessing and cutting of the Vasilopita (Saint Basil's bread). A pot-luck dinner with a question-and-answer period between the children of the parish and His Eminence was held in the Church Center immediately following the Divine Liturgy.
