The 2010 Church School Year at Assumption of the Holy Virgin Church in Clifton NJ began on Sunday, September 26th with a picnic on the parish rectory grounds.  During the celebration of the Divine Liturgy special petitions and prayers were offered for the students and teachers of the Church School Program.  Then, over 100 people participated in a wonderful afternoon of Christian fellowship and fun!  The event featured a pot-luck buffet, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, refreshments, desserts, a "moon bounce," magic show, face painting and games.  Those in attendance were honored with a surprise visit from Bishop +Michael.  His Grace took time out of his busy schedule to stop by and share this special day with the parish children -- of all ages!
