Fall Teen Retreat at Frost Valley: A Weekend of Faith, Fellowship, and Spiritual Growth

From October 4-6, the Fall Teen Retreat at Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville, NY, was a grace-filled and Christ-centered weekend. Thirteen teens from across the Diocese as well as other Diocese and Orthodox jurisdictions gathered together to experience fellowship, worship, and spiritual growth amidst the stunning beauty of the fall season.

The retreat featured dynamic team-building activities, hiking through the vibrant autumn landscape, and worship services that strengthened our bond with Christ. A spiritual highlight was the Akathist “Glory to God for All Things,” after which His Eminence Archbishop Michael delivered a moving homily on personal prayer and he gave them recommended prayers and encouraged them to establish a prayer rule in their lives. The teens were engaged in a heartfelt Q&A session, gaining valuable spiritual insights. Honor Inlow, one of the teens, beautifully directed the choir for Great Vespers, and the weekend culminated in the celebration of the Divine Liturgy.
 
Evenings were filled with joy as the group bonded around the campfire with s’mores, stargazing, and spirited games of Sharks and Minnows. The entire weekend was a blessed time of fellowship, prayer, and reflection, as the teens deepened their relationships with each other and with God.
 
We thank God for His abundant grace throughout the retreat and look forward to the continued spiritual growth of our youth!
