A Gentle Mother, A Holy Matushka: Getting to Know St. Olga of Alaska

The Diocese of New York and New Jersey's Department of Christian Education invites Church School teachers, youth workers, clergy, and all those interested in Orthodox education to a two-part online workshop focused on the life and legacy of St. Olga of Alaska, the first Native Alaskan Orthodox saint.

  • Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 PMPart 1: Voices from Alaska
    Hear firsthand accounts from the village of Kwethluk, where St. Olga lived and served, including reflections from Father Michael Nicolai, Matushka Xenia Oleksa, and others.

  • Tuesday, October 28 at 7:00 PMPart 2: Resources for Teaching
    Receive practical take-away resources for parish use, including:

    • A PDF of St. Olga’s life story

    • Village liturgical music

    • A short play ideal for parish celebrations
