[Buffalo, NY] - The Saints Peter and Paul Church family in Buffalo, New York, was blessed with a spiritually uplifting weekend during the archpastoral visit of His Eminence, Archbishop Michael, on November 1–2.
The weekend began on Saturday evening with Great Vespers, followed by a light meal in the parish hall, where parishioners enjoyed warm fellowship and conversation with their archpastor.
On Sunday morning, the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy began with Parish Council President Marty Napierski presenting His Eminence with the traditional bread and salt, and Archpriest John P. Hutnyan offering the traditional hand cross in greeting. The vesting of the Archbishop took place in the center of the church, assisted by Subdeacon Andrew Karlgut, Reader Tim Harper, and the parish altar servers.
During the Liturgy, His Eminence bestowed upon Father John the high honor of the Jeweled Cross, in recognition of his devoted and faithful service to the Church. Concelebrating with Archbishop Michael and Father John were Archpriest Alexey Karlgut, Dean of the New York Diocese, and Deacon Mitchell VanDuyn of St. John Orthodox Church in Rochester, NY.
Following the Liturgy, parishioners gathered in the hall for a catered luncheon and fellowship. The visit concluded with an informal question-and-answer discussion led by Archbishop Michael for catechumens and newly baptized or chrismated members of the parish.
The Saints Peter and Paul community extends heartfelt thanks to Vladyka Michael for his pastoral care, his inspiring presence, and for honoring our beloved pastor and parish with this memorable visit.
