The Diocese will host two Altar Server Retreats this spring with His Eminence, Archbishop Michael, offering altar servers an opportunity for prayer, learning, and fellowship while deepening their understanding of service in the Church.

Two identical retreats will be offered in different locations across the Diocese:

• Saturday, May 2, 2026
  Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church – Endicott, NY
• Saturday, May 9, 2026
  Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church – Wayne, NJ

The retreats will begin at 9:30 AM with the greeting of Archbishop Michael, followed by the vesting of His Eminence and the celebration of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. After brunch, participants will attend instructional sessions focused on serving at the Hierarchical Liturgy and other services celebrated by the Archbishop. Teaching sessions will conclude at approximately 4:00 PM. For those able to remain, Great Vespers will be served at 5:00 PM, followed by a light supper.

Adult altar servers and boys are invited to attend. Participants are asked to bring a white or gold stikhar (server’s vestment).

Clergy are strongly encouraged to send at least two teenage or adult altar servers from each parish, as every parish should have servers prepared to assist when the Archbishop celebrates the Divine Liturgy, especially during parish visits, ordinations, elevations, or other special occasions.
