[Binghamton, NY] - On August 14 and 15, 2026, His Eminence Archbishop Michael made an archpastoral visit to the Dormition of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Binghamton, New York, for the parish’s Patronal Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, presiding at Great Vespers and the Festal Divine Liturgy.

On the eve of the Feast, His Eminence presided at the Festal Litiya.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were Archpriest Andreja Damjanovski, parish rector; Archpriest Alexey Karlgut, Dean of New York State and rector of the neighboring Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Endicott, New York; and Deacon Mark Bohush, cleric of Saint Athanasius Chapel in Bronxville, New York, together with the parish subdeacons and altar servers. The choir was directed by Matushka Margaret Kappanadze.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, flowers and herbs were blessed according to the tradition of the Feast. His Eminence presented the parish with a newly consecrated and blessed Antimension containing a relic of Saint Basil Martysz. A relic of Saint Olga of Kwethluk and Alaska was also presented to the parish.

Following the Divine Liturgy, the faithful gathered in the church hall to break the fast and share a festive meal together.
