BALLSTON LAKE, NY - On July 19, Archbishop Michael presided at Divine Liturgy at Christ the Savior Church in Ballston Lake, NY. On this day we had two ordinations: Deacon Paul Fedoroff, a longtime member of Christ the Savior, was ordained to the holy priesthood (married to Matushka Jessica and with their children, Catherine and Rachel); and Reader Paul Giokas, a lifelong member of Christ the Savior, was ordained a subdeacon (married to recent St. Vladimir's graduate Shelby Giokas). In addition, clergy awards were given: Priest Matthew Markewich received the kamilavka, and Deacon Michael Burdikoff received the double orarion. Two gramotas were also awarded: one to Archpriest Igor Burdikoff, the founding priest of Christ the Savior, in honor of 55 years of the priesthood; and Reader Cyril and Maureen Kozak, in honor of their commitment to the building up the parish over many years. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, we were forced to postpone a festive meal until next year.
