Newly Illumined: Christopher and Pelagia Baptized at Transfiguration Cathedral
image

[Brooklyn, NY] -  On November 1, 2025, Christopher and Pelagia received the Holy Mystery of Baptism at Transfiguration Cathedral in Brooklyn, NY. It was a special joy for the entire community, as this was a conscious and heartfelt decision made by the young adults themselves, both of whom were raised in non-religious families.

For nearly a year, they diligently prepared for baptism under the guidance of Fr. Wiaczeslaw Krawczuk and Reader Christopher Novik, learning the foundations of our faith and traditions. Despite their demanding university schedules, they made every effort to attend Sunday and feast-day services, as well as the parish coffee hours, where they enjoyed fellowship with the clergy, parishioners, and the cathedral’s youth group.

The community of Transfiguration Cathedral warmly congratulates Christopher and Pelagia on this important step in their spiritual lives. May the grace of the Holy Spirit guide and strengthen them on the path of faith.
