[Jewell, NY] - On Saturday, November 1, 2025, St. Andrew’s Camp hosted a joyous celebration to thank its benefactors, supporters, and volunteers. Their generosity has benefited hundreds of campers and made possible many wonderful improvements to the camp’s facilities and programs.
During the event, His Eminence Archbishop Michael celebrated the Divine Liturgy, assisted by Fr. Jason Vansuch, Fr. Gregory Fedorchak, and Fr. Ambrose Inlow. Following the Liturgy, a procession was held to bless and dedicate the newly constructed Dining Hall, along with the camp’s existing buildings, each entrusted to the intercessions of beloved saints closely associated with the camp’s life: St. Michael the Archangel, St. Olga of Alaska, St. Herman of Alaska, St. Seraphim of Sarov, and St. Joseph the Betrothed.
The day reflected the deep commitment of those in attendance to the camp’s ministry. Posters created by Susan Selby and a slide presentation prepared by Board Member Timothy Halligan highlighted the camp’s history and ongoing progress.
A festal dinner, prepared by the expert culinary team of Katherine Rigo, Kevin Williams, Gerda Mortelette, and Patricia DePalma, was enjoyed by all, accompanied by inspiring words from Archbishop Michael on the importance of the camp’s mission to youth and families in today’s world. Fr. Gregory Fedorchak shared personal memories and touching stories of lives transformed through the camp experience.
Doug Selby, Vice President of the Board of Directors, expressed gratitude to all who support the camp through their time, talents, and treasures, emphasizing that this ministry depends on such sacrifices. Board Member Marilyn Brady introduced attendees to the camp’s new giving platform, GiveButter.
The celebration concluded with musical performances by campers and the presentation of a mounted icon of St. Olga of Alaska, created especially for this occasion by Fr. Ignatius Gauvain, as a gift to each family present.
Glory to God for all things!
