Wantage, NJ — Archbishop Michael Celebrates Presanctified Liturgy in Sussex County

[Wantage, NJ] — On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the second Wednesday of Great Lent, His Eminence, Archbishop Michael, presided at the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at Holy Spirit Orthodox Church in Wantage, NJ. This annual gathering brings together Orthodox clergy and faithful from across northwestern New Jersey and surrounding areas for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual renewal.

This tradition has been a longstanding one for the parish, with Archbishop Michael serving as the principal celebrant for many years—first as a priest, and now as the ruling hierarch of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey. His presence continues to be a source of spiritual strength and encouragement for the faithful of the region.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were Priest-in-Charge Father Michael Pejovic, Archpriest Samuel Kedala (retired), Father Christos Tallios (Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church, Middletown, NY), Father Iakovos Fitzpatrick (Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption, Windham, NY), and Hieromonk Iakovos of St. Dumitru Romanian Monastery in Middletown, NY.

Following the service, clergy and faithful had the opportunity to spend time with Archbishop Michael, benefiting from his pastoral presence and Lenten reflections. The parish also expressed gratitude for his continued visits throughout the year, including Holy Spirit Day and the annual September 11 Memorial Service.
