Archbishop Michael Visits Herkimer Parish for 110th Anniversary Celebration

[Herkimer, NY] - On June 20–21, 2026, His Eminence Archbishop Michael made an archpastoral visit to Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Herkimer, New York, in celebration of the parish’s 110th Anniversary.

The highlight of the weekend was the celebration of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Sunday. During the service, two parishioners of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Nikita Zaitsev and Milan Djurdjevich, were tonsured by His Eminence to the rank of Reader.

Concelebrating with Archbishop Michael were Presbyter Vasil Dubee, rector of Saints Peter and Paul Church, Protodeacon Paul Sokol, Deacon Demetrios Richards, and Subdeacons Mark Federoff and Andrew Karlgut. Also assisting in the altar were Benjamin Goes and the devoted altar servers of the parish.

The parish choir sang beautifully, contributing to a prayerful and uplifting celebration that reflected the joy of the occasion. The faithful gathered in thanksgiving for the many blessings bestowed upon the parish throughout its 110-year history and prayed for its continued growth and witness to the Orthodox Faith.

Following the Divine Liturgy, clergy, parishioners, and guests enjoyed a festive fellowship meal together.

May God grant many blessed years to Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church and to all who have labored for the glory of God and the building up of His Holy Church in Herkimer.
