Archpastoral Visit: Clifton NJ

Sunday, August 15, 2010

His Grace, Bishop +Michael made an archpastoral visit to Assumption of the Holy Virgin Church in Clifton NJ to celebrate the parish's patronal feast -- The Dormition ("Falling-Asleep") of the Mother of God.  His Grace joined the faithful and parish rector, Father Stephen Evanina, in the celebration of Great Vespers with Litya on the eve of the feast-day, and then met with the Parish Council for an informal dinner and meeting.  Bishop +Michael also celebrated the hierarchical Divine Liturgy the following day (Sunday, August 15) followed by the traditional blessing of flowers and procession.  Following the joyous festal Liturgy, a brunch was served in the Church hall during which His Grace led a Q&A session with those in attendance.
