The parishioners of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker (Cohoes NY) and the sister parish of Saint Basil the Great (Watervliet NY) joined together for Vespers on Saturday, December 4th and again on Sunday, December 5th as His Grace, Bishop +Michael, joined them in celebrating the Divine Liturgy to commorate Saint Nicholas "the Wonderworker."

Assisting His Grace were Bishop +Seraphim (Retired), Priest Terenti Wasiliewski (parish Rector), and Archpriest Peter Olsen (Rector of Saint Basil’s).   Matushka Barbara Pavelchak, Walter Shymansky, Ronald Geleta and Tessie Campana were recognized by Bishop +Michael for their dedicated services to Saint Nicholas parish.

Bishop +Michael blessed several icons which were written by the students attending icon classes at Saint Nicholas.
 
A dinner was held following the Divine Liturgy at Saint Basil’s Center during which the faithful of both parishes gathered together.  A children’s program was held by the Church School students of Saint Nicholas and the program was highlighted by a “visit” from Saint Nicholas.

This marks the second time this year that the two parishes -- Saint Basil and Saint Nicholas -- have joined together in fellowship as one in Christ.
