Archbishop Michael visited the Orthodox Church of the Annunciation in Brick NJ on “Father’s Day” weekend of 17-18 June.
During his Archpastoral visit, His Eminence tonsured Veljko Pejovic as a Reader.
He recognized Archpriest Gary Breton on the occasion of his 25th anniversary of ordination to the Holy Priesthood, and blessed the nearly-completed parish hall and education center.
His Eminence also received a donation from the parish Church School students representing their Lenten efforts of providing alms to those in need.
Veljko graduated from Saint Tikhon’s Seminary this year and is returning in July to his home in Serbia to be married. God willing, Veljko will then return to the United States and serve in our diocese in a clerical capacity.
Father Gary was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on November 30, 1991 by Bishop +Job of blessed memory. He has served as Rector of Annunciation Church since July 1, 2003.
The parish hall has been under construction for over a year. Members of the parish anticipate being able to occupy and utilize the structure in the very near future. The building includes a 1,700 square foot fellowship hall, a commercial kitchen, two class rooms, and two office areas.
“The parish continues to thank God,” said Father Gary, “for all His blessings upon His Holy Church!”
