Reverend Father Thaddeus Franta

On Saturday, 17 September, Reverend Deacon Thaddeus Franta was ordained to the Holy Priesthood at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Endicott NY by His Grace, Bishop Michael of New York and the Diocese of New York and New Jersey. In attendance were faithful from the Endicott parish, students from Saint Tikhon's Seminary, and 12 members of the New York-New Jersey Diocesan Diaconate Formation Program sponsored by Saint Tikhon's Seminary and located at the Saints Peter and Paul Church complex. Father Thaddeus is a 2011 Master of Divinity graduate of Saint Tikhon's Seminary.

Father Thaddeus and his wife, Matushka Velislava, are from Christ the Saviour/Holy Spirit Church in Cincinnati OH.  Father Thaddeus was ordained to the diaconate on May 8, 2010, by Bishop Michael at his episcopal consecration at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Jersey City NJ.  Father Thaddeus is temporarily attached to Holy Spirit Church in Wantage NJ, awaiting parish assignment.

Serving at the Hierarchical Liturgy with His Grace were: Archpriest Alexey Karlgut (Rector of Saints Peter and Paul Church and Dean of the New York State Deanery); Archpriest Samuel Kedala (Rector of Holy Spirit Church, Wantage NJ, and Dean of the New Jersey Deanery); Father Timothy Holowatch and Father John Bohush (both assigned as assistant priests in the Endicott parish). Assisting at the altar were Protodeacon Michael Speck (Saint Nicholas Church, Auburn NY), and Deacon Matthew Markewich of Saint Tikhon's Seminary.

We pray that Christ the High Priest will bless Father Thaddeus and Matushka Velislava with a prosperous and peaceful life, good health and salvation, visitation and furtherance in all good things, and that He will protect and preserve them for many, many blessed years! "Mnogaya Lyeta!"
