Saint Mary's Church in Jackson NJ had the honor of a visit by Bishop Michael on 20-22 September to celebrate the parish feast-day of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin Mary (Julian Calendar).
On Friday evening, His Grace celebrated the Vigil service along with Archpriest John Prokopiuk (parish Rector), Archpriest Samuel Kedala, Protodeacon John Morvay, Subdeacon Mark Federoff, and parish altar servers. Dinner was served in the parish hall after the vigil.
Saturday morning, the feast-day of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin Mary (Julian Calendar), a Hierarchical Divine liturgy was celebrated. A festal meal was served in the parish hall and the evening concluded with Vespers.
On Sunday morning the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace and Father John Prokopiuk.
The whole parish, lead by Matushka Ludmilla Prokopiuk, contributed to the wonderful three-day commemorations that took place around their festal celebrations. And, they ensured that everyone was welcomed and well-fed in celebration of the feast-day.
