On the weekend of November 7th and November 8th, the Parish of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin, located in Jackson, NJ was blessed to have His Eminence Archbishop Michael join the faithful for his annual Archpastoral visitation. The weekend began on Saturday evening with Vespers served by our Rector, Archpriest John Prokopiuk, and Protodeacon John Suchernick. After Vespers, everyone enjoyed a beautiful dinner in the Parish Home prepared by the Sisterhood of the Parish.
On Sunday, November 8th, His Eminence Archbishop Michael was greeted with the traditional offering of bread and salt by Parish Council President Protodeacon John Morvay, the Hand Cross by the Rector of the parish Archpriest John Prokopiuk before entering the church for the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy. Serving with His Eminence Archbishop Michael were the Rector of the Parish, Very Reverend Archpriest Father John Prokopiuk, Protodeacon John Morvay, Protodeacon John Suchernick, Subdeacon Mark Federoff, Subdeacon Matthew Ortiz, and Altar Server Oleg Yatsuk. Responses to the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy were led by our choir director Tatyana Halitskaya. A festive luncheon was held in the parish home after the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy prepared by the Parish Sisterhood, led by Matushka Ludmila Prokopiuk. On this day Our Lord provided us with a beautiful sunny fall day in the town of Jackson. We were blessed to celebrate this occasion with our beloved Archbishop Michael, beloved Matushki, family, friends, and beloved faithful of our Parish.
