On 16 November 2013 the Commission on Liturgical Music [CoLM] and Saints Peter & Paul Church in Buffalo NY hosted “Making Music with Kids.” The workshop, taught by David Lucs, attracted children from Orthodox and non-Orthodox backgrounds. The parish was already providing a haven of hospitality for the surrounding community through a soup kitchen, but their level of commitment doesn’t stop with food and drink. Their commitment to their neighbors was shown by their willingness to sponsor a child from the neighborhood, giving that child the opportunity to participate in the workshop. Reflecting on the workshop, Father Vlad Zablotskyy (parish rector) said, “Our children will remember this for a long time!”
