Dogs, cats, hens, hamsters, roosters, fish and others were brought to Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Rochester NY for a blessing on Saturday, 29 September. “We invited our neighbors within a three-block radius of the church to join our parishioners for a cook-out followed by a molieben service and blessing of their pets,” said Father Ken James Stavrevsky (parish rector). Flyers announcing the event were delivered, door-to-door, by Sub-deacon Sean McNulty. “My little Sammy was very well-behaved,” said Heather McNulty of her adorable and energetic canine, “I think the blessing had an effect on him!”
