[Rochester, NY] - On Sunday, July 21, our parish of St. John the Baptist in Rochester, NY, was blessed with a visit from His Eminence Archbishop Michael. The day was marked by a beautiful Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, attended by our congregation and adorned with several significant milestones for our church community.
One of the highlights of the service was the tonsuring of Ryan Chacinski as a Reader. The role of a Reader is a vital part of the liturgical life, as they are responsible for reading the scriptures during services. Ryan's commitment and dedication to serving the Church were recognized and celebrated as he took on this new role.
In addition, our beloved priest, Father David Mezynski, was honored with the presentation of a jeweled Cross. This distinction is a testament to his tireless service, spiritual leadership, and dedication to the parish.
Our Deacon Stephen Sweet was also honored during the service. On the 25th anniversary of his ordination, he was presented with a Gramota. This award acknowledges Deacon Stephen's steadfast service and dedication over the years. His contributions to the spiritual and communal life of our parish have been invaluable, and this recognition is well deserved.
We are grateful to His Eminence Archbishop Michael for his visit and for bestowing these honors upon our parish members. It was a day filled with joy, reverence, and a deep sense of community. Here are some photos capturing the memorable moments of this blessed day.
