On the feast-day of Pentecost, 8 June 2014, Saint John the Baptist Church in Rochester NY held its annual 5K WALKATHON in support of providing scholarships to campers attending Saint Andrew’s Camp this summer. The walkers had a beautiful day and enjoyed the scenery of Highland Park ... home of the famous “Lilac Festival” ... on route to Mount Hope Cemetery where prayers were offered at the graves of Father Cyril and Matushka Gretel Stavrevsky (parish rector, 1979-2003) and on behalf of all departed parishioners and loved ones. Upon return to the church, ice cream and fellowship were a delightful reward. The Camping Program at Saint Andrew's Camp begins on 6 July 2014 and continues for 4 weekly sessions.
