Faithful and friends of Saints Peter and Paul Church of Jersey City will come together on May 6, 2007 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the parish.

The centennial celebration will mark the completion of a five year restoration project of the church exterior, which was made possible by three matching grants from the New Jersey Historic Trust and Preservation in the amount of $599,154.00. The anniversary will also begin a fund raising campaign to restore the church interior. The parish rector, Archpriest Joseph Lickwar, comments as follows. “The love and dedication of our parishioners, parish friends, and the Historic Trust of the State of New Jersey has enabled us to give the past a future.”

The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, which is at 9:30 am, will be followed by a commemorative dinner from 12 Noon to 4 pm at Casino-In-The-Park, Jersey City, NJ 07304. Reservations can be made by calling 201.434.1986.
