Archpastoral Visit: Rochester NY

June 18-20 2010

The parish of Saint John the Baptist in Rochester NY welcomed His Grace, Bishop Michael for three days, 18-20 June, marking his first visit to the parish as diocesan bishop.  Events included an evening reception social with parishioners, a breakfast with members of the parish council and choir, a "Family Vespers Day" with parish children and their parents featuring make-your-own-pizza, and the Sunday Divine Liturgy.  At the hierarchical liturgy, Deacon Stephen Sweet was elevated to the rank of "Protodeacon."  A parish breakfast followed the Divine Liturgy with donations going toward scholarships for children attending programs at Saint Andrew's Camp this summer.
