Panikheda in Spring Valley NY: "Prof" Serge Verhovskoy & family

On Thursday, October 7, 2010 a Panikheda was served for the renowned late professor of Dogmatic Theology at Saint Vladimir's Seminary, Serge Verhovskoy, along with his wife, Olga, and sister, Vera.

The service was conducted at their gravesites at Nova Deveyevo Convent Cemetery, Spring Valley NY. Very Reverend Igumen Joseph (Hoffman) of Holy Transfiguration Church, Pearl River NY, presided. Responses were sung by Very Reverend Archpriests: Samuel Kedala (Dean, New Jersey Deanery; Rector of Holy Spirit Church, Wantage NJ); Joseph Frawley (Orthodox Chaplain, United States Military Academy at West Point NY); and Kyril Riggs (Rector of Saint John the Baptist Church, Spring Valley NY).

Following the Panikheda, Father Joseph Frawley reflected on the lectures given by "Prof" and his life in this country while teaching at the seminary.

May the memory of Professor Serge Verhovskoy, Olga, and Vera be eternal!
