As part of the diocese’s first Choir Recognition Day and with the blessing of His Grace, Michael, Bishop of New York and New Jersey, choir members with twenty-five or more years of service in music ministry of the Church were recognized in their parishes beginning on Sunday, October 2nd (the Sunday following the feast-day of Saint Romanus “the Melodist”). Certificates of appreciation signed by His Grace and the three co-chairs of the Diocesan Commission on Liturgical Music, along with Saint Romanus icon-pins, were presented to those recognized and honored by their respective rectors.
