At the 2013 Diocesan Assembly held in Yonkers NY, Bishop Michael shared the profoundly moving experience of his visit, this past May, to the Bethany School for Girls at the Gethsemane Convent of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem. To that end, our faithful ~ collectively or individually ~ are invited to offer financial assistance for the Bethany School as part of their almsgiving during this Nativity Fast. An anonymous benefactor has offered the Diocese a matching grant in support of our Nativity Appeal on behalf of the Bethany School for Girls in Jerusalem. For every two dollars that is donated by Diocesan parishes, organizations, clergy and faithful, this benefactor will donate one dollar (up to $5,000). This means that if the Diocese could reach a goal of $10,000, an additional $5,000 would be matched. To contribute, please see the information in the news release.
