Saint John the Baptist Orthodox Church (Rochester NY) celebrated its 50th parish anniversary on 17-18 May 2014. The weekend commemorations included a festive banquet on Saturday followed by Great Vespers, and a joyous Hierarchical Divine Liturgy on Sunday. Celebrating the Liturgy with Bishop Michael were the parish rector, Father Ken James Stavrevsky (a “son of the parish”), Father Thaddeus Wojcik (first permanent rector of the parish, 1968-1975), and Father John Dresko (also a “son of the parish”).
