On Sunday, March 13, St. Gregory the Theologian Orthodox Church in Wappingers Falls, NY hosted the Deanery Lenten Vespers. His Eminence, Archbishop Michael presided at the vespers along with seven clergy of the Deanery including Mitred Archpriest Joseph Lickwar, Chancellor of the Diocese, Archpriest Gary Breton, Dean of the New Jersey Deanery and Archpriest Eric G. Tosi, the Rector of the parish.
Also in attendance were Fr. Samuel Keldala, Fr. Paul Kucynda, Fr. Michael Pejovic, Fr. Volodymyr Zablotskyy and Fr. Maryan Chaikivskyi. Parishioners from around the deanery were in attendance and the St. Hope Committee of the parish provided a Lenten meal.
His Eminence, Archbishop Michael gave the homily on the theology and application of St. Gregory Palamas. He emphasized the importance of St. Gregory's teaching on understanding the Faith in the heart and using prayer to approach God and deepen our relationship with Christ.
The next Deanery Lenten Vespers will be on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 4:00 PM at St. Vladimir Church in Trenton, NJ.
