On Saturday, 5 May, a dozen teens and adults from Holy Annunciation Church, Brick NJ; Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral, NYC; and Holy Trinity Church, Yonkers NY gathered at the headquarters of His Grace, Bishop Michael, and the Diocese of New York and New Jersey for a day of much-needed yard and grounds work.
Teens who just the night before were enjoying their Senior Proms, found themselves waist deep in the creek behind the house (wearing waders, of course!) pulling fallen tree limbs out of the water; racing wheelbarrows full of dirt to strategic spots around the house to protect against flooding; finally, enjoying a well earned lunch on the patio.
Seeing the Chancery transformed by the day's work, Bishop Michael expressed his gratitude to the teens: “The property looks beautiful now -- the best it has looked, by far, since I moved here two years ago. I know there are many things you look forward to doing on the weekends. I am so thankful that you would choose to offer that time to God!”
