On Saturday, 9 November 9 2013, an Akathist Service to Saint Nectarios was celebrated in commemoration of the saint's feast-day at Saints Peter & Paul's Orthodox Church in Bayonne NJ.  Father Sophrony Royer (parish Rector) and the gathered faithful of the parish were joined by Father John Fencik (Saint Mary’s Orthodox Catholic Church, Bayonne) and several of his parishioners.

Responses were sung by the parish choir under the direction of Emily Fencik.  Healing Prayers, taken from the Akathist Service for the Sick, were read at the conclusion of the service and everyone in attendance was anointed with holy oil from the lamp at St. Nectarios' tomb in Greece. It was a spiritually uplifting experience for the Orthodox community in Bayonne.
