[Buffalo, NY]
On Saturday, October 30, 2021, Vespers were served by his Eminence along with priests of the Council of Orthodox Churches of Western New York at Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church — Fr. Vladislav Golic of St. Stephen Serbian Church (Lackawanna), Fr. Raphael Barberg of St. George Antiochian Church (Lewiston), Fr. Jason Vansuch, Fr. Peter Irfan and Fr. Andreja Damjanovski of St. George Church (Buffalo). A chicken souvlaki meal was served by the Sisterhood of the Protection of the Theotokos after the service.
Sunday morning Archbishop Michael was greeted by all the children of the parish, with each child presenting him a rose. The welcome continued with the bread and salt presented by Parish Council President, Martin Napierski, and Parish Priest Father John P. Hutnyan presenting Vladyka with the traditional cross.
During the beautiful Divine Liturgy, Timothy Harper was tonsured a Reader of the parish. A meal of holupki (stuffed cabbage), sausage, mashed potatoes and many side dishes were enjoyed by all, as well as the delicious homemade cookies and desserts prepared by ladies of the parish.
A sincere thank you is expressed by the parish to Archbishop Michael, Father Deacon Stephan Karlgut and family, and Matthew Ortiz for making the long trip and spending time in prayer and much enjoyable fellowship.
