[Jewell, NY] - Saint Andrew's Camp's new building is moving forward fast!!! After many hurdles and struggles, and with the support of so many of the faithful of our diocese, this building now has walls, a roof, electricity, alarm systems, and windows. Fundraising for this project began three years ago, and with the generous response of so many churches and individuals, we were able to finalize plans last summer and break ground. Our teens were part of this inaugural move toward a more spacious and accommodating kitchen, dining hall, and recreation center. Post covid increased costs, and the usual civic hurdles slowed progress until this Spring. But our contractor has been diligent and moving carefully forward with as much speed as possible to have this building ready for our camping season this year.
We are grateful for all of the contributors - both monetary and donations of needed kitchen equipment - that have been forthcoming. We continue to need everyone's prayers and support. Archbishop Michael has been tireless in spreading the word about our project and gathering much-needed funds. Our excitement about opening this building is punctuated with much gratitude for all the individuals and churches who have made this possible. Please visit our Facebook Page and our website for further progress reports. With our youth as the focus of our ministry and with expanded service and nurturing of their parents, grandparents, and extended family, we strive to strengthen the Christian families and followers of Christ in this diocese.
